Help & FAQ

Short answers to the questions people ask most. Missing one? Ask.

What is BrickBatch?

Free tools that help you get your LEGO® sorted, and keep it that way: a guided sorter that takes you through a tub one step at a time, and a label maker for printable bin labels. More about the idea on About.

Do I need an account?

No. Every tool works without one. An account only adds one thing: your batches, label sheet and settings follow you to your other devices. It is free, and you can delete it any time. Log in or sign up.

Where is my work saved?

In this browser, on this device, as you work. If you are logged in, it is also saved to your account, so it shows up on every device you log in on.

To keep a backup of your own:

Clearing your browser’s site data removes what is saved in it, so back up first if you have no account.

How does the guided sort work?

Start a batch (a tub, a bag, a lot you bought) and weigh it if you can. The sorter then asks you to pull one kind of piece out at a time: first the big, easy splits for the whole batch (bricks, plates, slopes and so on), before going deeper into any one pile. That way every pile shrinks evenly and you can stop whenever you like. Weights and times along the way show how far you have come.

Colours, and the “Element” level

Once a pile is down to one part, you can split it by colour: colour vs greyscale, colour families, or exact colours. A part in one colour is what LEGO calls an element, so that is the most detailed level a sort reaches: Element.

Making labels

  1. Catalog & Groups: pick the parts you want labels for, and group them the way your bins are.
  2. Sheet: choose the paper (A4 or Letter) and a preset, or type in your sticker sheet’s label size, columns, rows and margins.
  3. Template: decide what each label shows: picture, name, number.
  4. Review & Export: check the sheet, then Export PDF and print.
